ISO17

International Symposium on Ostracoda 2013

The 17th International Symposium on Ostracoda was held in Rome (Italy), organized by Elsa Gliozzi, Ilaria Mazzini and a very industrious team of Italian ostracodologists behind them. Scientific contributions to this meeting have been published as a special issue in the journal Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, as a special section in Vol 54 (2015) of the Journal of Archaeological Science and in the journal Micropaleontology. Ilaria Mazzini wrote a detailed report after the symposium.

ISO17 in Rome took place exactly 50 years after the first international conference of ostracod workers in Naples (Italy) in 1963 (ISO1). This was a good reason to look back at ISO1 in the welcome address by Renate Matzke-Karasz, IRGO chair 2009-2013.
